The History of TV (2): Liberalism is the Golden Calf of Hollywood

Liberalism infected Hollywood during what can be termed the 'Cultural Revolution of American TV' which was exported to other countries through songs, TV, film and theatre. Hollywood thrives on liberalism. A show which portrayed the traditional family as good, and abortion, casual sex and homosexuality as evil would be condemned. This influenced the culture greatly, normalising casual sex, homosexuality and abortion. The traditional family, and in particular, the strong family man, was vilified as conservative, backwards and redundant, leading to the acceptance of the tradition family as a matter of personal choice rather than as a moral obligation.

Marriages Case Study (5)

Kate was a conservative woman who fell in love with Bill, a liberal man. Bill convinced her to marry him despite her parents' strong objections. Ten years later, Kate began to suffer from strange bouts of lethargy and sickness. Several trips to the doctor were unable to find a cause, until he performed a blood test. It turned out that Kate had AIDS. She confronted Bill who admitted that he considered himself bisexual and had been involved in several homosexual affairs while married to Kate. He was tested as well, and also was HIV positive, but the disease had not progressed to AIDS. Kate divorced and is now forced to take a battery of medications to delay the inevitable.

The One and Only Alfonzo Rachel

Alfonzo Rachel may be a social conservative, but he is not the 'typical' social conservative that many anti-conservatives or liberals may make him out to be. He is witty, intelligent, humourous (because he is political humourist) and above all, he does not judge those who have different views from him. Instead, he kindly and gently expresses his stance on a range of political issues including welfare, gay marriage, racial politics and the liberal education agenda using moral logic. He is upfront, honest and does not hide his opinion.

For an alternative analysis of politics, check out his website at: http://alfonzorachel.com/.

What a University Education Should Be

The purpose of encouraging people to undergo university education should not be to merely get some qualifications, on top of enjoying leisure. It should be about developing character and understanding more about the society, culture and values. It is not a means to an end, but an means to another mean. Education is a life long process indeed.

Many modern universities are infiltrated by liberal thinking academics who attempt to indoctrinate naive, uncritical thinking university students, who make up the majority, by teaching certain philosophies are rational, fundamental or objective. Some stop students who have alternative views, that is, conservative views from speaking out by using fear tactics in classrooms.

Such students are increasingly seen as "racist", "sexist", "homophobic" or "illogical" because conservatives make up a minority - sometimes a minority of one. Conservatives have what many see as outdated, irrelevant or redundant ideologies which deserve to be punished. In addition to this, the student body in charge of providing services to students can use their position to silence alternative voices, while claiming that they speak for all, simply because politically incorrect alternative views have no place in a liberal university.

Not giving enough weight to an unpopular argument (2)

Those of you readers from Russia would find this of great interest. The ABC's PM program covered a report titled 'Russia Passes Controversial Anti-Gay Law'. I could be wrong, but based on what I have seen in the Australia media, it appears to be perhaps the most controversial topic in Russia. The report appeared to give disproportionate weighting to the arguments against gay marriage and assumed that support for gay marriage is the only acceptable stance on this topic.

The report describes the opinions of two Russian MPs, Elena Drapeko and Tamara Pletnyova who voiced their opposition to gay marriages. It does not silence their opinion, but does not explore the reasoning behind their opinion. Instead, Macey goes on to say that supporters of the legislation are 'trying to protect Russia's young'. The report, on the other hand, allows opponent of the bill, Rodney Croome to logically give reason their views.

Rodney Croome is the  national director of Australian Marriage Equality. So obviously, he has an interest in the legalisation of gay marriage for he himself is a homosexual. Croome criticises the law for preventing foreigners, including Australians for being able to speak nothing but negatively about homosexuality. He also criticises Russia for having laws that do not suit his values. Just like how every person, including him, has their own values, every country has their own values. He may be a lecturer in sociology, but this does not mean that he is always right about social values. Like everyone else, he has no right to change their values and behaviour to suit his self-interest.

Croome finishes of the report as though he is able to conclude like an expert. He is an expert, that is, in the eyes of the ABC who are helping to champion the progressive agenda. The report is a subtle, cunning pro-homosexual propaganda which is an attempt to silence alternative views.

Last note: For those of you in Russia, could you please give your comment about whether it would be right to say that foreign media has attacked Russia for this law. Your insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Gay movement: Redefining the meaning of Equality (3)

The homosexual lobby shouts louder for equality each day. It preaches to the masses about marriage equality, telling them about how they can't get married while others can. It has influenced many by instilling the generally accepted belief that homosexuality is an inherent personal characteristic.

Studies have shown that homosexuality is not switched on by a gene or sets of genes. Homosexuality is a behaviour, not a personal characteristic that a person cannot change, such as one's race, sex or age. People are not born homosexuals. Rather, they become homosexual as a result of  their experiences and social environment in which they live in.Therefore, it follows that legalising gay marriage would be like legalising paedophilia or rape on the (false) premise that a paedophilic or raping tendencies are natural and cannot be changed.

Gay movement: The Change in Power (2)

The homosexual movement was active in encouraging people to support their stance. Like many other political movements, the campaigned at universities to produce a generation that was supportive of gay marriage and the like. Once a generation of people who believed that the so-called traditional values were no longer relevant, and the sexual revolution which gave birth to the notion that sex should be freely shared, cohabiting between opposite sex couples became acceptable.

Cohabiting has become normal, and anything which was against it was attacked as conservative and naive. The homosexual movement had gained more momentum ever since the sexual revolution and so, it become generally accepted that homosexual relationships are acceptable and deserve respect. Now, homosexual activists are fighting for equality in their terms, that is, gay marriage rights.

Gay movement: The History of Gay Rights (1)

The whole modern conception of gay rights is not merely a product of creativity, but is also a political agenda that attempts to change the moral rules. In our postmodern world, the morality is regarded as idea, if morality even exists. The belief that homosexuality is wrong, is based on the concept of Natural Order - that men and women were made to marry each other, followed by reproduction exclusively within marriage. This concept is now a foreign one in the postmodern Western society.

The homosexual movement sought not only to purport that homosexuality is not immoral, but that homosexuality is moral on the grounds of equality whatever equality might mean.

It is important to understand that equality means equal treatment of people equal in status in the relevant matter. Thus, it follows that persons or groups of unequal status should be treated differently to ensure equality.

I will explore the issues underlying the concept of gay marriage in the next few posts.

"You can't impose your morality on us" (1)

"You can't impose your morality on us". I'm sure we've all heard that phrase. It is often used by pro-abortion or pro-homosexual activists who want legislation changed to suit their wants. These wants are not to be mistaken from needs. Human beings naturally need what they want, but do not necessarily want what they need. We are naturally seek our rights (or "rights"), but do not seek that of others. We focus on what we want, but could no care less about what others need.

Every person has their own personal moral or ethical standards. Whether they are consistent with a universal, objective set of moral standards is a different matter. Pro-abortion and pro-homosexual activists use this phrase to psych opponents to think that they are the ones who are bigoted. It is is true that people should respect their beliefs, but just because people want a certain change, does not mean that is has to be legislated.

People who say that others cannot impose their morality on them are telling a misleading truth. While people cannot impose their morality on them, they are, in effect, attempting to impose theirs on others.

Postmodernism: Respect? What is respect?

One of the word that has been abused the most is 'respect'. It has been used in very cunning ways. In particular, homosexual advocates argue that gays are not being 'respected' when they are not legally allowed to 'marry'. Respect in this sense refers to the action, not the people. However, the term is blurred between the behaviour of gays and gay people. It is based on the paradigm that homosexuality is a behaviour people cannot change and that people are born gay. However, scientific studies have not shown this to be the case. Instead, studies have shown that sexual orientation is influenced by the environment.

The main argument against 'gay marriage' is that it is not marriage because marriage, according to Natural Law is the union between a man and a woman. The argument against gay marriage refers to the actual behaviour, not the people. Respect, by this argument, means to care for the community. Marriage, from the perspective of Natural Law protects women and civilises men. It follows that it also provides the best environment for children to be brought up by a father and a mother.

The argument for gay marriage seeks to advance the individualistic desires the the gay community, whereas the argument against seeks to protect the community.
